  1. Twitter helps you think and write efficiently. Getting your point across in 140 characters takes practice. This equals the 140 characters.
  2. Think before you tweet. It’s really awkward to take back a tweet after it’s sent.
  3. Start slowly. By definition, the web is about sharing. But, a little selfishness at first will help you to share with gusto later. Pick and choose who you follow by what it can do for you.
  4. Direct tweeting — sending a tweet to only one person — works only when that person “follows” you.
  5. You decide who follows you. Always.
  6. You can privately collaborate with co-workers in multiple locations by tweeting only among the group. NASA does it, why not you?
